This Terms and Conditions document (“Agreement”) governs the use of services provided by Ride Koraput, a taxi service and car rental company based in Koraput, Odisha. By booking or using our services, you (“Customer” or “User”) agree to comply with and be legally bound by the following terms.
1. Definitions
- ➢ Company/We/Us: Refers to Ride Koraput.
- ➢ Customer/You/User: Individual or entity availing Ride Koraput services.
- ➢ Driver/Chauffeur: A licensed individual employed or contracted by Ride Koraput to operate vehicles.
- ➢ Booking: A confirmed request for transport or rental service.
- ➢ Service: Refers to point-to-point travel, hourly rental, outstation trips, or custom itineraries provided by Ride Koraput.
2. Booking & Cancellation Policy
2.1 Booking Confirmation
- ➢ Bookings must be made through our official website, app, or customer support.
- ➢ Confirmation is subject to availability.
- ➢ Customers must provide accurate pickup/drop-off details.
2.2 Cancellation
- ➢ For all Kind of Rides: If a client makes an advance payment for a booking and later cancels the trip for any reason, the advance amount will be non-refundable.
- ➢ This policy ensures the reservation of resources and operational readiness dedicated to the client’s booking.
- ➢ Outstation Trips: 50% charge for cancellation within 12 hours of pickup.
- ➢ No-Show: Full fare will be charged if the customer fails to appear without prior notice.
3. Fare Structure and Payments
3.1 Fare Components
Fares may include:
- ➢ Base fare
- ➢ Distance and time charges
- ➢ Toll charges
- ➢ Parking fees
- ➢ Driver allowances (for long or overnight trips)
3.2 Payment Modes
- ➢ Online payment (UPI, Credit/Debit Cards, Net Banking)
- ➢ Cash payment to driver
- ➢ Wallet integrations (as applicable)
3.3 Invoicing
Invoices are auto-generated post-completion of ride and shared via SMS/email.
4. User Conduct and Responsibilities
4.1 Customer Obligations
- ➢ Ensure accurate address and contact information.
- ➢ Maintain respectful behavior with drivers.
- ➢ Avoid carrying prohibited items (e.g., drugs, weapons).
- ➢ Ensure all co-passengers follow basic decency norms.
4.2 Alcohol and Smoking
Smoking or consumption of alcohol inside vehicles is strictly prohibited.
4.3 Damages
Customer will be held liable for any damage caused to the vehicle due to negligent or intentional acts.
5. Driver Conduct and Company Responsibility
5.1 Background Checks
All drivers are:
- ➢ Verified with valid commercial driving licenses
- ➢ Background-checked via Odisha Police and local RTO
- ➢ Trained in safe and courteous driving, CPR, and basic first-aid
5.2 Driver Behavior
Drivers are prohibited from:
- ➢ Consuming alcohol during duty
- ➢ Harassing or misbehaving with passengers
- ➢ Using mobile phones while driving (except hands-free navigation)
6. Safety and Traffic Regulations
6.1 Compliance with Motor Vehicle Act, 1988
Ride Koraput strictly adheres to the Indian Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and all its subsequent amendments. Key compliance includes:
- ➢ Vehicles with valid commercial registration and permits
- ➢ Use of seatbelts by all passengers
- ➢ Adherence to local traffic signal systems
- ➢ Banning of honking in silent zones
6.2 Seat Belt Norms
Drivers and passengers must wear seatbelts on highways and city roads.
6.3 Overspeeding and Rash Driving
Drivers must not exceed speed limits:
- ➢ Urban: 50 km/h
- ➢ National Highways: 80–100 km/h (depending on category)
Penalties will be applicable for violations
7. Highway & Outstation Travel Norms
7.1 National Highway Protocols
All outstation trips comply with:
- ➢ NH Authority regulations on tolls and stops
- ➢ Mandatory rest periods for drivers (30 mins after 4 hrs)
- ➢ Use of hazard lights in fog or extreme weather
7.2 Emergency Situations
In case of breakdowns or accidents:
- ➢ Immediate roadside assistance will be arranged
- ➢ Alternate vehicle will be dispatched, wherever possible
- ➢ Emergency contacts will be notified if provided
8. Data Protection and Privacy
8.1 GDPR Compliance
For international clients, we comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) standards:
- ➢ Data is collected only with consent
- ➢ Usage limited to ride fulfillment, marketing (opt-in), or legal purposes
- ➢ Right to access, correct, or delete personal data is honored
8.2 Indian Data Protection Laws
For domestic clients:
All data is stored securely on Indian servers as per Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011
No data is shared with third parties except government bodies when legally required
8.3 CCTV and Tracking
Certain vehicles may have onboard dash cams and GPS tracking to ensure safety
Footage/data is only accessed in case of dispute or investigation
9. Service Availability and Limitations
9.1 Service Coverage
We currently operate in:
- ➢ Koraput district (urban and rural)
- ➢ All Tourist Places Nearby Koraput
Whole of Odisha including Bhubaneswar, Jeypore, Rayagada and others, Visakhapatnam Airport (Andhra Pradesh), (Parts of) Chattisgarh Including Raipur Airport (on request basis)
9.2 Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for delays or cancellations due to:
- ➢ Natural disasters
- ➢ Political unrest or curfews
- ➢ Technical failure or road blockages
10. Odisha State Vehicle Hiring Guidelines
10.1 Permits & Registrations
All vehicles are:
- ➢ Registered under Odisha Commercial Transport rules
- ➢ Issued with inter-district or all-India permits based on trip type
10.2 Driver Identification
Every driver carries:
- ➢ A valid Commercial Driving License (CDL)
- ➢ Odisha Labour Department registration (if applicable)
- ➢ Uniform and Ride Koraput ID badge
10.3 Police Verification
All drivers are verified through the Odisha Police “Mo Sarkar” initiative before onboarding.

11. Liability and Indemnity
11.1 Customer Liability
Customers are liable for:
- ➢ Providing false information
- ➢ Fare evasion or fraud
- ➢ Theft or property damage during ride
11.2 Company Liability
Ride Koraput is not responsible for:
- ➢ Loss of personal belongings in vehicle
- ➢ Delays due to traffic or weather
- ➢ Services availed outside official channels
12. Complaint and Redressal Mechanism
12.1 Reporting Issues
Complaints can be lodged via:
12.2 Resolution Timeline
- ➢ Minor issues: within 48 hours
- ➢ Legal issues or disputes: within 15 working days
12.3 Dispute Resolution
Any legal dispute shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Koraput District Court, Odisha.
13. Promotions, Offers, and Vouchers
13.1 Validity
Promotional vouchers and discounts:
- ➢ Are non-transferable
- ➢ Expire as per stated date
- ➢ Cannot be combined unless explicitly allowed
13.2 Abuse of Promotions
Use of fake emails or identities to gain unfair benefits will lead to blacklisting and legal action.
14. Modifications and Termination
14.1 Amendments
Ride Koraput reserves the right to:
- ➢ Modify any clause at any time
- ➢ Notify users through website/app updates
14.2 Termination of Services
We may terminate or suspend access to services for:
- ➢ Breach of these terms
- ➢ Illegal or fraudulent activities
- ➢ Misuse or abuse of our platform
